North junior Jessica Gotti once again turned in a strong performance on Saturday at the Villa Angela-St. Joseph McDonough Invitational.
Gotti ran a time of 22:02 to finished 21st overall in the girls’ race.
“I was pretty satisfied with my time today,” Gotti said. “I have had faster races before but I am proud of how I competed and pushed myself throughout the whole race.”
North’s girls finished 12th overall.
Sophomore Kyra Kiessling placed 63rd in 23:39 to lead the rest of the pack. Freshmen Olivia Godshall (71st, 23:57), Rachael Vojtush (80th, 24:41) and Maya Buonigiovanni (85th, 25:00) and junior Melanie Wayts (89th, 25:21) also competed for the Rangers.
“Pack running is very important and pushes everyone to stick together, overall making everyone better,” Gotti said about the Rangers coming together this season. “We try to use pack running at practice as much as possible because it really makes everyone improve.”
North’s boys’ team finished 17th.
Junior Jason Reik led the way with a 46th place finish in 18:35. Freshman Matt Colton placed 110th in 20:27 and sophomore David Vaiksnoras was 113th in 20:39. Junior Gabe Meros (114th, 20:41), seniors George Inman (123rd, 21:26) and Richard Abrams (125th, 21:29) and junior John Keough (126th, 21:31) also ran.
The Rangers return to the trail on Saturday at the Strongsville Invitational.
