Boys Varsity Basketball · Rangers come up short at Chardon

CHARDON—Kyle Randle scored 27 points, including the game-tying basket with 3.6 seconds remaining in regulation, but it wasn’t enough as North fell at Chardon on Tuesday, 74-72 in overtime.

At several points in the fourth quarter, the Rangers trailed by as many as seven points before closing out regulation on a 7-0 run.

Jason Reik, who finished with 22 points, drained a 3-pointer to start that run and Randle converted a pair of free throws following a Chardon technical foul. Randle’s final shot tied the game.

The Hilltoppers outscored the Rangers in overtime, 4-2, to seal the win.

Mo Morgan contributed to North’s cause with eight points and Cam Brown finished with seven.

Chardon’s Brady Toth led all scorers with 37 points.
